Write a paper on greenhouse gases with a strong emphasis on chemistry. It should be based on factual information and expert knowledge, and use only top peer-reviewed journals covering the most current news on the subject. Please include at least 5 references.© BrainMass Inc. brainmass.com October 25, 2018, 6:03 am ad1c9bdddf
Climate change involves the interplay of ocean temperature, currents, chemistry, and salinity. Changes in both surface and deep ocean currents occur. When plankton and archaea (group of single-celled microorganisms) are affected, a relay of changes will occur (Houghton et al, 2001). Glacier Ice everywhere is melting, a huge amount of the melt occurs in Greenland. The resulting cold water runoff might disrupt ocean currents and prevent warm air from reaching northern and western Europe. Because the size of the glaciers has diminished, less heat is reflected back by white ice and more is absorbed by darker water, further reducing the ice, a positive feedback loop.
The U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was organized in response to a strong consensus that the 21st century will experience a significant climate change and that human activities will be at least partly responsible for the change. The IPCC report projected a 1.4o to 5.8oC (2.5o to 10.4oF) increase in global temperature by the year 2100, although the warming will not be uniform region to region.

Environmental Science - what is meant by the Environmental Revolution?
1. Revolutionary changes in human culture have greatly changed the relationship between humans and the environment. How have the Neolithic and Industrial Revolution impacted the natural environment, and what is meant by the Environmental Revolution?
2. The recycling of elements is another vital functional process occurring in all ecosystems. Describe the biogeochemical cycles for carbon, phosphorous, and nitrogen. How have humans impacted these three cycles?
3. The goods and services performed by natural ecosystems are essential to human survival. What is their overall value, and of what significance is it to measure this value?View Full Posting Details
