I am working on a Chemistry lab write up and I have to determine the pressure of the dry butane gas.
My Data Table:
initial mass of lighter= 21.03g
volume of gas collected= 93.6 mL
temperature of the water= 23.2 degrees C
barometric pressure= 1.012 atm
final mass of lighter= 20.820
therefore the mass of butane collected in gas collection tube= .210g
I tried using the ratio 1/760 = x/769 ... to no avail.© BrainMass Inc. brainmass.com August 14, 2018, 9:16 am ad1c9bdddf
The "dry pressure" is the pressure of the butane is the total pressure corrected for the vapor pressure of the water. The vapor pressure of the water is 23.7 torr at ...
The solution determines the pressure of dry butane gas.
