ABSTRACT

Strategic management is a continuous collection of processes. These processes consist of various phases: strategic alternatives and recommended strategies, the implementation of strategies, and evaluation and control. Each phase consists of the following steps: completing an environmental analysis, instituting an organizational course, preparing organizational strategies, implementing those strategies, and evaluating and controlling those strategies. The construction of a strategic analysis includes both internal and external factors that are weighted and scored. Strategic management is a significant and integral utility of an organization's existence. (Wheelen & Hunger, 2007) This paper is a strategic analysis of Dell.

Dell History:

Michael Dell founded Dell in Austin, Texas in 1984 with an unparalleled idea. Dell wanted to sell computer systems to customers directly; delivering the most effectual computing solutions to meet individual needs. Presently, Dell unites with over 5.4 million customers every single day; via phone, personally, on Dell.com and via social networking sites. Dell has over 96,000 employees globally, who are all totally committed to making today's technology work harder for every community and every consumer. Dell has made technology more available to organizations and people worldwide.
