The current work organization is the one in which I work is a machine tools making firm that makes hand held and Pedestal drills. We call my company A. The second organization that I select also makes machine tools but mainly makes lathes. We call this company B. Even though the two organizations are in the same industry, they are not direct competitors. Both the organizations are in the machine tools industry.
Analyze the basic legal, social, and economic environment in which the organizations operate
The legal environment is one where both the firms have to comply with labor laws, environmental laws, and taxation laws. In addition, both the firms have to adhere to the local and city tax laws. The social environment is that of the community in which both the firms operate. In general there is a positive attitude towards both companies because they provide employment. However, there were some negative feelings towards organization B because there were rumors that gases and emissions from the foundry at organization B has been released untreated in the environment. The current economic environment is not favorable, factories are not willing to buy new machine tools and continue with repaired and refurbished machine tools.
