In the following context, we shall come across whether the lean system is incompatible with mass customization and flexible manufacturing or not.//

    It is true that when lean system is applied to the manufacturing process, it reduces wastage, thus, it stands out to be compatible with the concept that with mass customization and flexible manufacturing, wastage can be reduced (Bowersox, Closs & Cooper, 2012). This can be illustrated with the help of certain real-life examples such as the lean system at a supermarket, where the self-checkout process is applied, and goods are automatically scanned.
