B. Amazon's annual report for years has Jeff Bezos's 1997 letters to shareholders in which the elements of Amazon's culture are listed that is focusing on customers, creating long-term value, and making many bold bets. In that letter, Bezos says that this is Day 1 for the Internet. The Day 1 mentality is an operating model and culture that focuses on the customer. Day 1 mentality is to be curious, nimble, and experimental. According to Amazon if the Day 1 mentality is left unmonitored, Day 2 mentality will emerge which means stasis and decline. To prevent the Day 2 mentality Amazon has to be focused on the customer. Another artifact of Amazon is the door-desk (a). Bezos required desks at his office but when he looked at desks for sale he found that doors for sale were far cheaper. Bezos decided to buy a door and put some legs on it. This created a door desk. The door desk became the most distinctive artifact of culture at Amazon. Currently, there are modern versions of the door desk at Amazon officers. The message is that door desks were the cheapest way we could support a desk. Amazon looks for scrappy solutions provided these solutions work. The use of door desks represents ingenuity, originality, and peculiarity. Even today door desks are used as symbols of frugality. The company strives to deliver low prices to the customers.

The culture of Amazon has been enshrined in the four values customer obsession, long-term thinking, taking pride in operational excellence, and eagerness to invent. The key values that are told to employees are high-speed work, and being very cost-conscious. The warehouse employees are required to turn up in business casual wear.
