The following mission statement was developed by the Courtyard by Marriot chain:

This is a good example of a business and industry focused mission statement which is powerful and effective. This mission statement is both product (hotel service) and market (people) oriented. They had to make a distinction between them and their competitors so they took it a step farther by offering clean, comfortable, well maintained and attractive rooms with friendly and attentive staff.
