1) Credibility of the site: In order to find a reliable website, we need to check about the credibility of the source via various parameters. Credibility can be found by looking at the credentials of the author or source of information presented on the site. The site which provides comprehensive information about author or source of information, author's bio and contact information can be trusted as compared to the ones that do not provide such information.

Secondly, evidence of strict quality control on the websites is another criteria to judge the credibility of information. Evidence of peer-review, proper referencing,etc. are good evidence of quality control process being used.

Another criteria that can be used to judge credibility is metainformation. Access to high quality metainformation is becoming increasingly important. Summary metainformation includes all the shortened forms of information, such as abstracts, content summaries, or even tables of contents.
