The type of business that has been considered is a medical supply company, which provides
medical equipment to patients in the home and in various medical facilities. The types of medical
equipment provided are considered durable medical equipment, like walkers, canes, crutches,
wheelchairs, hospital beds, other mobility aids, air mattresses, shower chairs, shower or bath handrails
and much more. While the company will accept payment for supplies through major insurance carriers
and government plans such as Medicare and Medicaid, it will also aim to provide those who must pay
out of pocket, with the best equipment at affordable prices, without creating undue hardships. The
business model will include offering for purchase, gently used medical equipment that is both highly
functional and of the highest quality. ABC Medical Supply plans to do this by purchasing equipment
from sales and auctions of medical equipment and plans to hire certified technicians to test, repair and
otherwise certify that used equipment is not only operable, but will continue to function as it should for
a specified amount of time and is safe, without hazards, for the company's customers.
