    In case of using a control chart, there are several patterns that indicate possible out of control condition in the process. A control chart may indicate an out of control condition when a sequence of points shows nonrandom behavior. It is because it reflects that the process is not following a normal pattern of variation and that is the signal of out of control process. It means if the plotted points follow a pattern of variation that not consistent with the area under the normal curve then the process would be out of control (May, 2006).
