Germany is a temperate country with warm summers and cold winters. Prolonged periods of snow or frost are rare. Rainfall is throughout the year with peak during maximum summer months.
The country is divided into 16 states with varied landscape. Main cities of Germany are Berlin, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hanover, Munich, and Stuttgart.
The GINI index for Germany is 30.1 for the period 2001-2005. A Gini index of 0 represents perfect equality in distribution of income whereas an index of 100 implies perfect inequality. Till the year 2010 Gini index was 0.29, which suggested that income inequalities were lower than other rich countries. Looking at current figure of 30.1 it is evident that incomes of richest classes have increased much more than those of other income groups. ...
