As we understand today, information literacy involves the use of ICT tool, like computer, to keep, store, retrieve and use data and information. The teacher's main job is to impart information to the students. The use of presentation software (Powerpoint, Impress) improves the teaching and learning process. Related information may be stored in a storage medium (thumb drive, CD, DVD) for future use. This manner saves the teacher time, money, and effort.
Computation of grades is an easy as 1-2-3 when the teachers is information literate. The use of spreadsheet software speeds up computations. Gone are the days when the teacher will burn candles for long hours computing manually the grades of the students.
Carr (1998) mentioned that the American Association of School Librarians issued a position paper on information competencies that stresses application rather than concepts.
