If I were the CEO of a multinational company, the first thing that I will consider when selecting a model to use in an upcoming cross-cultural merger is the cultural distance between the culture of the other company and the culture of my company. If there is low cultural difference, the model used for cross-cultural merger, joint venture, or acquisition will be to integrate the company in my present organization. This will enable me to realize the highest synergies. I will assess the cultural difference between the other company and my company in several ways.
