The organization can do several things to develop intercultural sensitivity. First, the organization should bring about diversity to the team. The divisional managers in case of the global organization should be trained to eliminate partiality in the team. Global managers must first assess the diversity and study the local culture and modify the company's goals and tactics to meet the cultural needs of the local country. The cultural diversity should be assessed in the same manner as the other important elements of the business plan and every new team formed must be appraised from the perspective of cultural diversity. There should be provisions for half-way improvements and modifications based on cultural factors. For, example, after every advertising campaign there should be a small study conducted to test the cultural appropriateness of the campaign. Most importantly, foreign division managers must be able to and allowed to make changes in their corporate techniques and methods based on local cultural realities and practices. Finally, if everything fails, then the company must be able to bring in out side consultants who will help with facilitating multicultural or cross-cultural organizational associations.
Communication can be improved by doing proper preparation. There global companies need to have tolerance in communication, acknowledge differences in communication approach, use multiple forms of communication, allow different members to talk in a meeting, avoid using all country consultants - they are not versatile in different cultures, the company should examine and remove blocks of communication that exist on its side and persevere to improve ...
