The organization I work for is a retail organization. The firm has a chain of large stores that sell products at low prices and encourages customers to make all their purchases during one visit to the store. The store also has an online calling service and the caller can book orders on the phone and the deliveries are made through commercial couriers. The company also has a website from which a person can buy goods by making payments through credit cards or PayPal.

The first test that is suggested for use is the Cognitive Abilities Test. This test measures the learning abilities of employees in three areas, namely verbal, quantitative and nonverbal. The main purpose of this test is to test the employees reasoning abilities (Hersen. M & Gross.A 2008).

The legal implications are that the company should establish that the CAT is a job related test. In my opinion all store employees need to have superior reasoning abilities to carry out their jobs successfully.
