I am not a savvy investor, a novice at best, and it would be nice to get some insight from an investment guru. I lean more towards fundamental, but I know some tech analysis may aid in choosing the best one.

Please list any references you used.

For me, I tend to analyze a stock using a fundamental analysis approach. After I pick the ones that I want to invest in, I will use some technical analysis before I actually purchase the stock. Often times, my "stock picks" are priced at its peak, and you always want a good bargain, so you always want to buy when your stock pick is priced at a discount.
