The ERP system that my organization relies on is PeopleSoft. We have financial, procurement, order management, and human resources modules implemented at the organization. Since organizational boundaries are increasingly expanding, there is an increased need to incorporate changes happening in the global markets into the ERP system. Thus, ERP systems have to address more requirements due to globalization; which means more features now should be provided in standard ERP packages.
My organization can greatly benefit from SAP. The implemented PeopleSoft system has been in practice for a long time, and over this time, many changes have taken place in the organization which has led to increased customizations. By reducing customizations, organization would be able to save on costs and resources which can be put to a more appropriate use. Thus, SAP is the system the organization must upgrade to as it provides enhanced features which are more relevant in today's economic scenario. SAP provides better integration of financial modules with other modules in the system. The adaptation of new system would reduce occurrences of breakdown which consume lot of companies' resources and affect the performance.
