The case describes how Amazon.com increased in size and built a staunch following of loyal customers. The new ideas that Jeff Bezos developed after the launch of Amazon.com are also documented. The process of how Amazon.com remains competitive has been explained and its organization processes have been depicted in some detail. Finally, the managerial and other daily activities of Jeff Bezos have been portrayed.

Jeff Bezos is emphasizing the HR skills of recruiting, training and motivating good managers. Even in selecting managers he tests their recruiting skills.
2. How does Bezos carry out his interpersonal, informational, and decisional roles at Amazon?
Jeff Bezos carries out his informational role by collecting information from the Web, checking out the Amazon.com site, personally visiting the shopping malls and personally think specific employees. He carries out his interpersonal role by meeting specific employees personally and thanking them for the good work that they have done. I addition, he personally visits distribution centers where he highlights his values of customer obsession, ownership, bias for action, frugality, high hiring bar, and innovation.
