The first type of performance appraisal plan is the standard evaluation that an employer gives. During a standard evaluation, an employer appraises the employee's work through a series of requirements that any employee would need to achieve. Normally, an employee would receive a "grade" for each criterion required and then a supervisor would provide feedback to the employee as to why they received that numerical grade. In most cases, an employee would receive a copy of this appraisal for their future use.
