What is the purpose of using measurement and evaluation techniques in organizations? In essence measurement and evaluation techniques provide a significant amount of information that assists in decision making as well as acts as an indicator of the path an organization is taking. In other terms, it helps assess whether a strategic plan has been successful or whether changes to the plan are necessary (Sidhu, 2005). It is important to note that measurement and evaluation take place at the end of a planning process, and not at the beginning. Strategies need to have been already implemented, which means that measurement and evaluation techniques are not projections, they are fact finding tools.
Let's look at some of those measurement and evaluation techniques and how their effectiveness can be quantified.
