a. Purpose Statement: The purpose of this study is to determine if there is a significant difference between the number of Blacks who served in the armed services and the number of Whites who served in the armed services.

b. Proposed Hypothesis:

H₀: There is no significant difference between the number of Blacks who served in the armed services and the number of Whites who served in the armed services.

H₁: There is no significant difference between the number of Blacks who served in the armed services and the number of Whites who served in the armed services.

Question:

1. What is are the dependent and independent variables?

2. Conduct a t test - include a diagram.

3. Explain the results - Was the null hypothesis rejected or accepted.
