The Miami Heat's Manager's perspective was that he should get four most desirable players his team wanted namely Jordan, Shaquille O'Neal, Mourning, and Howard. The issues were if Heat could negotiate the salaries in such a way that they could have Mourning and Howard at the same time in their team. They wanted Mourning to sign for less than his market value so that more room under the cap could be created.
