Change management is a long-range effort to improve an organization's problem-solving and renewal processes, particularly through a more effective and collaborative management of organization culture with special emphasis on the culture of formal work teams (McShane & Von Glinow, 2004). It can be managed with the assistance of a change agent or catalyst and by use of theory & technology of applied behavior science, including action research (Brooks, 2006).
Adoption of change usually affects an organization's ability to deliver their existing and new projects within span. To properly control project scope, every organization should use this Change Management Process (Kreitner & Kinicki, 2003). It will give them an evidently distinct tool for managing change smoothly within their various projects.
Change Agent
In order to manage change in an effective manner it is necessary for the managers to communicate the main purpose and vision of the change in the organization (Brooks, 2006). The managers play a role of change agent in the organization. A change agent is a person who initiates change in the organization. Change agents in an organization are in the form of consultants form change (McShane & Von Glinow, 2004). These are the persons who are normally experts in the specific area of organizational change and help to communicate vision of the organization to implement change in a successful manner (Kreitner & Kinicki, 2003).
