Globalization of nonprofits would have several issues. A nonprofit organization is exactly that - an organization that is not focused on making a profit. Whereas the main goal of a profit seeking organization is to make a profit, the nonprofit organization is focused on the service or goods being generated. Due to this inherent difference, the nonprofit must plan its budget accordingly and very differently from the for-profit organization. The nonprofit organization must typically keep expenses low in order to continue providing its goods or services. Cash must be guarded in a closer manner when compared to its for-profit counterpart.

Considering these factors, we would then have to analyze the costs involved in globalization. The product or service being offered by the nonprofit needs to be weighed against the costs of globalization. Quite simply, the costs of the nonprofit organization to globalize would be too much for most nonprofit organizations to bear. The nonprofit organization would not be able to survive. Management of the nonprofit organization would then have to determine if the organization could continue sustaining expenses associated with remaining global while still being able to provide its goods and/or services at reasonable prices to its customers or those that the nonprofit organization serves.

The positive impact involves identity. If the nonprofit organization is able to sustain the expenses and acquires global recognition, there is the chance that the nonprofit organization would have the chance to grow. If this happens, there could potentially be a massive increase in revenue even though revenue generation is not the primary objective. This would come from additional sales of goods or services and contributions to the organization. Exposure on a global level is oftentimes a key to massive growth.
