Course RES/320-Foundations of Research Methods
Scaling Study Report:
Develop a short questionnaire of 5 to 10 questions and distribute it to at least ten people. This can be something that you have already done in the past. Use at least two different types of questions in the survey. Analyze the responses and comment on the validity and reliability of your questionnaire.
Prepare a 1,400-word paper in which you describe your results from this short study.
All key elements of the assignment are covered in a substantive way.
? Define the focus and scope of your study and its objectives
? Develop a questionnaire of 5 to 10 questions making sure to use two different types of questions and a response scale as applicable
? Discuss why you chose the question types you did and why you think these are the most effective ones for your study
? Describe the characteristics of survey respondents and the sample size
? Conduct a comprehensive analysis which describes the:
- Survey's results/responses
- Conclusions that can be drawn
- Limitations of your study and what you could have done differently
- Further research that may be warranted based on your study's outcomes
? Discuss the validity and reliability of your study
The content is comprehensive, accurate, and persuasive.
NOTE: The paper length requirement is 1400 words. The paper should be thorough, concise and substantive paper similar to the format that is used in most journal publications. Being thorough with the content is essential for grading.
The paper develops a central theme or idea, directed toward the appropriate audience.
The paper links theory to relevant examples of current experience and industry practice and uses the vocabulary of the theory correctly.
Major points are stated clearly; are supported by specific details, examples, or analysis; and are organized logically.
? Be sure to use outside sources, primarily from peer-reviewed journals and your course readings, to support your analysis and your discussion of validity and reliability
? Peer reviewed journal publications will provide the basis for your analysis and discussion
The introduction provides sufficient background on the topic and previews major points.
The conclusion is logical, flows from the body of the paper, and reviews the major points.
