This was not right or fair because paying bribes is immoral and it provides illegitimate advantage to the company setting up its operations.
One rule that I would want all employees to follow is that they should not discriminate against anyone based on race, color, or gender. One example of a rule that I would not want all employees to follow is that every employee (salesperson) must increase his sales revenues by at least 5% every year. My rationale for the first rule is that discrimination in the work place is wrong and can lead to demoralization and de-motivation of the workforce. My rationale for the second rule is that if every sales person is compelled to increase sales revenues every year he may be forced to take unethical steps to show higher sales revenues.

One legal right provided to employees is the right to minimum wages set by the government. This right enforces a moral right. The minimum wages are set by the government so that a worker gets enough to support himself and his family. It is a moral right of the employee to get enough to support himself and his family if he works.
