If there is a team leader, then the team leader should be managing the conflict so that ideas and reasoning are being utilized and the conflict is constructive. Conflict is in the form of a debate in a group normally produces quality decisions; however, if the conflict is simply arguments with no basis or foundation - then it is non-productive. Groups need to have members that will be supportive of each other.
