The communication problem within my organization is significant. The company is so large, that there are so many layers of managers and directors that need to be involved in making a simple decision.
Currently when a meeting needs to be scheduled, a form needs to be sent to the division manager. On the form, the meeting organizer must list what the meeting is for, who will be attending and how long the requested meeting will take. The division manager will either approve the request as is, or make changes to the request by removing certain individuals and adding other individuals that he feels will benefit from the meeting. The division manager also has the right to decline the meeting request all together. This form of micro-managing is non productive and stressful at the same time, as it makes the decision making process a much larger factor than it truly needs to be.
When it comes to making a purchase, the current communication plan is so involved, that a simple computer purchase can take up to 120 days. The level of approval is too ...
