Hello I am preparing for an exam and my instructor indicated it will be very familiar to this article. I am hoping an OTA can help me interpret the case.

I have to answer the following question and give an in-depth analysis. Given the difference in strategy between the two firms within the case , what would you expect would be the differences between the two firms in their:

a. planning and control systems,
b. strategic planning systems,
c. budgeting systems,
d. reporting systems,
e. performance evaluation systems, and
f. incentive compensation systems

I would greatly appreciate an OTA's guidance in this.

The plan will involve takeover of suppliers: Strict cost control measures and plans to make the production process more efficient will be the object of the control systems. Market penetration plans for new export markets will require large increases in production.
Hewlett-Packard: The planning will focus on introducing new products. There will be plans to skim the markets for new products introduced. The control system will focus on timely deliveries and strict quality control The export plans will focus on small but premium markets. Financial plans will focus on ensuring the liquidity without resorting to overdrafts.
