When the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis infect the lungs, it multiply and cause pneumonia, chest pain, coughing up blood, and prolonged cough. The bacteria can spread to other parts of the body and it interrupted the body's immune system. Plasmodium malariae is a parasitic protozoa that causes malaria disease in humans. It caused the malaria infection worldwide. It is a parasite that is transmitted to human by a vector that is a female Anopheles mosquito. The vector carried the parasite and transmitted to human by mosquitoe bites.

The bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis look like rough surface, buff-colored colonies. The main defining characteristics of the genus Mycobacterium is the property of acid fastness, which is the ability to withstand acid-alcohol mixture after coloration with stains as Ziehl-Neelsen or auramine O. It has the ability to retain dyes (fushsin) when treated with acid solution ( Ziehl-Neelsen stain). The mycobacteria is mainly an intracellular parasite. It is an obligate aerobes and reside in the lungs mostly. It produces niacin.
M. tuberculosis has a tough cell wall that prevent the passage of nutrient and giving it the characteristic of slow growth rate. It has a Gram-positive cell wall. Its cell envelope has a peptidoglycan layer, and there is a complex structure of fatty acids that make it look glossy.
