    1. No- the earth would not be habitable without the greenhouse effect. Without the greenhouse effect the earth's temperature would be around 0 degrees F (-18 degrees C). In fact the earth's average temperature is approximately 60 degrees F (16 degrees C)- and has allowed life to develop. Mars- with little greenhouse effect has a mean surface temperature of -80 degrees F (-62 degrees C)
