    It may of been helpful if you had given me the other possible answers to the multiple choice question. However, we will work with what we have.

    First, the electron transport chain is located predominantly in the inner membrane of the mitochondria is a true statement.

    Why? Because the inner membrane of mitochondria contains the proteins of the electron transport chain, and is the barrier allowing the formation of a H+ gradient for ATP production through ATP synthetase.
