Two sided dice are rolled. What is the probability that the sum of the two numbers on the dice will be 5?

Assume the two dice are fair, so the probability of showing any number is equally likely. Therefore, P(X1,X2)=(1/6)*(1/6)=1/36 for any given number x1 and x2, where x1 is the number on first dice, and x2 is the number on second one, 1<=x1<=6, 1<=x2<=6.

If the sum of the two numbers is 5, then the possible events are {1,4}, {2,3},{3,2}, {4,1}, and the probability of each event is 1/36, so the probability that the sum of the two numbers on the dice will be 5 is 4*(1/36)=1/9.

A bag contains 2 red marbles, 3 blue marbles and 7 green marbles. If a marble is randomly selected from the bag, what is the probability that it is blue?

The total number of marbles is 2+3+7=12, and there are 3 blue ones, so the probability that a randomly selected marble is blue 3/12=1/4

A class consists of 41 women and 74 men. If a student is randomly selected, what is the probability that a student is a woman?

Similarly, there are 115 students in the class, and the number of women is 41, so a randomly selected student has probability of 41/115 =0.3565 being woman.

A survey resulted in the sample data in the given table. If one of the respondents is randomly selected, fine the probability of getting someone who lives in the flat. (house 258, Flat 518, Apartment 406, Other 426)
