# Statistical analysis

Company W is testing a sales software. Their salesforce of 500 people is divided into four regions: Northeast, Southeast, Central and West. Each sales person is expected to sell the same amount of products. During the last 3 months, only half of the sales representatives in each region were given the software program to help them manage their contacts.

The VP of Sales at WidgeCorp, who is comfortable with statistics, wants to know the possible null and alternative hypotheses for a non-parametric test on this data using the chi-square distribution. A non-parametric test is used on data that is qualitative or categorical, such as gender, age group, region, and color. It is used when it doesn't make sense to look at the mean of such variables. (You can refer to the article for this phase for further information.)

//Hypothesis testing plays an important role in Statistical analysis. In this paper, we will discuss about hypothesis and its types. There are two types of hypothesis; null and alternative. Here, we will discuss both types of hypothesis. Non Parametric tests including Chi-Square and ANNOVA will be discussed to validate the hypothesis. //

The statistical analysis helps to understand the applicability of software used to test the performance and assist the sales force of Widge corp. The company uses software that keeps the data of sales in a particular region per month by a salesperson. The company divided sales force of 500 people into four regions i.e. Northeast, Southeast, Central and West. The proficiency of software would be analyzed through Hypothesis testing and non parametric analysis.

Hypothesis testing:

A hypothesis is the objective or problem that the researcher wants to resolve. It is the predictive statement that the researcher assumes and tests either for verifying or rejecting of the statement with explanation. There are two types of hypothesis that can be made. One is null hypothesis, which is denoted by Ho, another is alternative hypothesis denoted by H1. Information is provided by the statement in the form of ...
