Personal Reflection: violating norms in Family and Church

I grew up in a very conservative and religious family. This meant that we had to go to church every Sunday. This was the norm in our town, something expected of respectable families. At home, we had to behave in a particular way - respectful and obedient to our parents, responsible with our studies, helpful in housework. This was the idea of good children, one that pleased not only our parents but above all, God. Nothing of course is wrong with this. Its sounds like an ideal family living in a well-ordered and peaceful community.
