Within cognition, there are a variety of different aspects of cognitions that have a fine relationship. Festinger (1957) described the relationships among cognitions in his Cognitive Dissonance Theory. Festinger operationalized a cognition as a piece of knowledge. Knowledge can be anything: such as an emotion, value, behavior, or even an attitude. Let's say that an individual likes a certain food (maybe lasagna).
