The Will: The First Grand Theory is somewhat problematic. Historically, there is a problem of definition: What was the will? As well, studying the will proved difficult: (a) some had more will than others ?why? (b) explaining the will multiplied the problem of motivation (c) the will was ultimately circular e.g. He exercised his will because he has free will.
