The purpose of the chart is to see if these psychologists meet the criteria for scientific theory or better stated scientific sufficiency; in other words are their ideas scientifically sound. Considering scientific theory has multiple areas the three areas you are to choose are objective, causal and experimental. Before continuing we must understand what each word means in this framework.

To be objective means not to be swayed by anything except for facts which pertain to the issue at hand. Causal means simply is there a connection between what you are studying and a cause such as "where there is smoke there is fire." Hence the cause of the smoke is fire which is why there is smoke. The experimental means is the subject or issue observable through a series of tests which have a particular outcome which proves one's point. Now that we understand what the three criteria are we can look at the scientists and see if they fit the scale which is clearly understandable.

Charles Darwin postulated the theory of evolution which he stated in his book "The Origin of Species" which describes evolution of biological organisms. His theory of natural selection states that the stronger organisms and traits survive while the weaker organisms with weaker attributes become extinct. Therefore, he postulated that humans had to evolve from a simpler form of life and evolved into what we know today rather than created. (1) His use of the objective method would be a 5 based on his years of study and the fact that he traveled to the habitats of the organisms he studied, his use of causal methods also a 5 because he studied multiple varieties of organisms and traced improvements to their specific evolution and 5 for experimental because his assertions can be observed in every living organism without fail.
