Scientific writing is a way for people, in the science community, to communicate their ideas and research with others. These writings can be published in trade journals, on the internet, in magazines or newspapers or in books.

Unlike fictional writing, scientific writing is not intended to entertain. The purpose of scientific writing is to explain or teach, so the writing must be easily understood by the readers. Good scientific writing is precise and clear, uses correct grammar and is objective.
