The practice of community psychology works towards exploring psychological principles to apply them at the community level for the purpose of intervening, providing insight and improving the quality of life of communities and their members. It is primarily research-oriented and one of the disciplines in psychology that often finds relevance as a form of critical discipline for the purpose of social action and social change. Key issues are studied under the principles of psychology, including the ecological perspective.
