I think that one of the greatest challenges that asymmetric/irregular warfare poses to the use of air power, is the challenge of being able to identify enemy targets and to be able to attack them before they are moved etc. This is a particularly difficult challenge in irregular warfare, largely due to the fact that the more powerful nation will usually have the greatest amount of air power and control of the air over the battlefield, and the less powerful military force will usually utilize hit and run tactics, as well as to constantly move their base camps or staging areas.
