1) Why are only radio and optic telescopes used on the earth's surface?
2) What is nuclear fusion and how does it work in the sun?
Hello and thank you for posting your question to Brainmass
1: The reason that only radio and visible light telescopes are used on earth is that any other waves with frequency higher than the UV are just absorbed, scattered or reflected back to space by the atmosphere and never reach an observer on the ground. This is a good thing. without this protective cover of the atmosphere the earth surface will be bombarded with high-energy radiation (x-ray gamma). At this stage earth will no longer support life.
2: Nuclear fusion, as its name indicates, is a process in which two or more nuclei of atoms are fused together to ...
The solution discusses the advantages of optical and radio telescopes on earth and explains teh process of nuclear fusion.
