    Consider a dipole above an infinite grounding plane as shown (attachment). Plot the induced surface charge sigma (x,0,0) for (-15A<x<15A).

    Try to sketch what you think it will look like before you calculate it. What do you think sigma (0,0,z) for (-15A<x<15A) will look like?

    First of all we will use method of images. The image charges are shown on the figure above.
    The logic is as follows. First calculate the electrostatic potential from these four charges at point (x,y) and then take partial derivative with respect to y and set y=0.
