    The conservation of the total momentum demands that the total momentum before the collision is the same as the total momentum after the collision, and is expressed by the equation
    m1V=(m1+m2)V2
    V2=m1*V/(m1+m2)=50*4.0/(50+40)=2.22m/s

    So the speed of moving off together is 2.22m/s.
