I think that the plea bargain policy is effective in some respects, and also has a detrimental aspect or effect. I think that the plea bargain process is effective due to the fact that it helps to reduce the financial costs associated with the criminal justice process in many respects. This is due to the fact that court costs are very expensive, and can accumulate during a very lengthy court proceeding or trial, and the process of plea bargaining creates an avenue by which this very lengthy and expensive process can be reduced exponentially.
