Yes. I believe that marijuana should be decriminalized. I believe that it should also be taxed and sold just like cigarettes. Also, it can be regulated like alcohol with licenses to sell it, and to grow and distribute. The consumption is not the issue; it is the growth and distribution. If someone is growing or selling without a license, then they should be arrested and be given a heavy fine. Also, wherever their operation is, it could be seized by the government. There needs to be regulations on the marijuana, too, in order to make sure that it is not being laced with anything else like on the street. The active ingredient in marijuana, THC, has many medicinal purposes and it would be beneficial for those individuals that need it to be able to readily get it anywhere. Plus, you have never heard of someone killing someone by driving while they were high on marijuana. Honestly, I feel marijuana has gotten a bad name from the previous government administration. Once marijuana has been decriminalized, it will definitely make the drug crime rates go down.
