It is a common practice for parents and even the police and school officials to not report status offenses such as underage drinking and truancy from school, and many minor offenses such as stealing small amounts of money, fighting, and shoplifting, on the grounds that this behavior is just part of the growing-up process.
In your opinion, who benefits and who does not benefit by not reporting the minor offenses or status offenses juveniles commit? Why?
How are the juveniles who commit status offenses and/or minor offences, of the type described above, different from juvenile delinquents?

As society continues to evolve, it appears we tend to see criminals getting younger and younger. From petty theft to murder, our juvenile justice workload has been overloaded for the last decade. Additionally, these adolescents require much more time and budget from the state in order to house and rehabilitate them. In many circumstances, parents and guardians are completely out of the situation when police and school officials fail to report status offenses and write it off as part of the growing-up process. Below we'll discuss my personal opinion to whether or not I see this as beneficial and whether or not these same juveniles are considered delinquents.
