The ethical dilemma I will focus on is China's inability or refusal to curtail its pollution. The past few weeks have witnessed the nation of China in the news because of horrible and dangerously high levels of pollution that is causing significant health risks for its population. The nature of this dilemma is that China was and in many areas is a very poverty stricken nation with millions of people living off of less than 2 dollars a day. Therefore, many people suffer terrible and precarious lives that entail hard labor for little return, hunger, starvation, and death. Under this reality, the ability for China to become an economic power and raise these humans out of the depths of poverty is a very positive issue to pursue. The pursuit of this began in jest during the late 70s and early 80s when China opened up its borders to the West and began trading with the West.

Over the course of the last 4 decades, China has become a major source of outsourced labor wherein companies from the West outsource their work orders to China to complete. Tens of millions ...
