First, as you talk about your event, I selected this particular event for various reasons. Because my father is a Vietnam veteran who suffers physical and emotional ramifications of the war, I have personal interest in this topic. Because of the immense, long term humanitarian, ecological, political, economic, social, and other effects of this war, I feel like it drastically ruined America's image abroad and domestically, further divided our nation, and served as a catalyst for future acts of American imperialism and aggression in years to follow. I even feel that its legacy still fuels America's military participation in the Middle East.

In sum, as you summarize what impact would your change(s) have on us today and how different would things be for us today if your change had actually happened, please note that I feel that avoiding the Vietnam War would have benefited America dramatically in the short and long term in areas such as ...
