As you look at policies, I chose to focus more on native rights. Please note that there are a plethora of ideas to select. However, you might examine how Aboriginal leaders continue to affirm their rights to govern themselves. Critics argue that Aboriginal policies do not act in the best interest of native people, mainly for the interests of Canada as a whole. This example might show that policies benefit some regions and some social classes to the detriment of other regions and social classes, particular the Native Indians.
Because Canada seems to recognize merely the French and English, federal policies often imply that Aboriginal people should assimilate into mainstream culture; again, it is more to their own detriment. As you look at specifics, you might examine the effect of the Indian Act of 1867. Please mention how it gave Canada the authority to govern Indian affairs.
